Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE ONLY BY CALLING 301-270-4244 AT LEAST 2 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT TIME OR CLIENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FULL FEE.
Cancellations CANNOT be done through email.
Insurance
I do not participate in any insurance plans. However, some insurance companies cover Medical Nutrition Therapy for medically diagnosed conditions such as diabetes or hyperlipidemia.
Your visits are considered Medical Nutrition Therapy, or MNT, defined by the AMA current procedural terminology code book: “MNT is the assessment of nutritional status followed by nutritional therapy. The nutritional assessment includes review and analysis of:
- Medical nutrition and medication histories
- Physical exam
- Anthropometric measurements, including body composition analyses
- Lab test values
Medical nutrition therapy (MNT) may include:
- Dietary modification
- Education and counseling
- Disease self-management skills training
- Administration of specialized therapies such as medical foods.

CPT codes are used by insurance companies to identify the different services and procedures that health practitioners provide. Refer to these CPT codes when calling your insurance provider, and use the phrase “Medical Nutrition Therapy” rather than nutrition counseling.
